Former La Salle standout Jeron Teng is set to file his draft applicationMonday, making himself available for the 2017 PBA Rookie Draft slated on Oct. 29.

Through his agent Danny Espiritu, Teng has informed the PBA Commissioner's Office in advance of his submission of his draft papers three days ahead of the Oct. 12 deadline.

The 6-foot-2 forward, fresh from a stint with the Chooks To Go Pilipinas team in the recent FIBA Asia Championship Cup in Chenzhou, China, is tipped to be among the top draftees in the 2017 draft exercise.

Twice Finals MVP in the UAAP, Teng could well be in the Top Five with Christian Standhardinger, Jason Perkins, Raymar Jose, and Kiefer Ravena should he also decide to join the draft.

Standhardinger, Perkins and Jose have submitted their draft applications ahead of Teng.

Deadline of draft application among Fil-foreign players was over.
Among those who beat the deadline are Standhardinger, Perkins, Jason Potts, Felix Apreku, Andreas Cahilig, Julian Sargeant and Zach Nicholls.

Meanwhile, homegrown players have until Thursday to throw their hats in the coming draft where Kia is No. 1 in the draft order.

Kia coach Chris Gavina has said they intend to pick Standhardinger although the Fil-German forward/center still needs to honor an obligation with the Hong Kong team in the Asean Basketball League.

Homegrown hopefuls who have formally applied for the draft include Lervin Flores, Jonjon Gabriel, Christian de Chavez, Alvie Bringas, Jason Nalos, Carlo Gomez and Dan Sara.

Flores is a slam-dunk champ from Arellano U while Gabriel earned spurs with Colegio De San Lorenzo in the NAASCU.

Sayang nga ma'am, mukhang wala na makukuhang magandang player sa 9th pick. Kuha nalang ang Star sa free agents.

MANILA, Philippines – A total of 44 players have declared for the 2017 PBA Rookie Draft, the league announced on Thursday evening.

Filipino-German forward Christian Standhardinger, who earned plaudits with his stints for Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA Asia Cup and the Southeast Asian Games, banner the rookie hopefuls and is projected to be the top selection.

Also joining the draft are homegrown superstars Kiefer Ravena and Jeron Teng, who both made their intent to join the pool known earlier this week.
Two standouts from the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas team that competed in the 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup in Chenzhou, China – Jett Manuel of University of the Philippines and Raymar Jose of Far Eastern University – have also made themselves available.

De La Salle University's Jason Perkins and San Beda College's Davon Potts are two of the most high-profile Filipino-American players who have joined the draft.

Felix Apreku of Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Julian Sargent of La Salle, Andreas Philip Cahilig of the Cignal team in the PBA D-League, Robert Herndon of Wangs and Zachary Nicholls of Arellano University are the other Fil-foreign hopefuls.

Star owns the 2nd and 4th pick of the second round from NLEX (From the Maliksi Trade to Blackwater ) and Phoenix (From Mick Pennisi Trade) respectively. Their own 9th pick was traded to Phoenix

Sana magpush through yung KIA & STAR trade. Tayo na lang yung walang dominant big sa SMC team. Magandang pambawi to sa walang kwentang trade between BW and STAR. I'm eyeing din na sana makuha nila yung Herndon. I think isa sya sa legit sleeper sa draft. Another additional firepower at the SF position ito. PBA ready na. Yung slot na iniwan ni Allein, it's obvious na di kayang punan ni Gamalinda and Dela Rosa yung scoring ni Allein at that spot. Another one na pwede kunin is Julian Sargent.

True, kulang nga sa wings ang Star since they traded Maliksi. Herndon i think is PBA ready, his built is for the big boys, and he can score inside and outside.

Lee, Barroca, Melton, Jalalon, Simon, and Abudo are all 6'0" and below, almost half of the line-up are very small guards, it's time for coach Chito to balance his line-up.

I hope magbawas sila ng guards, and mag dagdag sila ng mga wings at bigman.
