Sana we can bring back Blakely sa GOVs cup since defense style ang system ni Coach Chito.

Ricardo Ratliffe tops Star wish list as PBA Commissioner’s Cup import

Star board governor Rene Pardo said the Hotshots intend to bring back hard banging Ricardo Ratliffe as the Hotshots’ import for the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The only question though is will Ratliffe be available for the import-spiced, second conference, which allows all PBA squads to bring in reinforcements not over 6-10.

Hindi ko pala alam (if available) kasi ongoing pa lard nila sa KBL (Korean Basketball League),” Pardo confided to FOX Sports on Monday.

The approachable Star team executive said he’s well aware that the stocky Ratliffe is also being considered as a naturalized player for South Korea.

“Oo, may plano pa sila (Korean national team) na kunin saying naturalized player dun, pero di naman ata magko-conflict,” he added.

Should the Thunders make it deep in the KBL playoffs, Pardo said the the plan B is to tap a temporary import and just wait till Ratliffe becomes available.

“Meron naman kaming mga dalawa hanggang tatlong players na nasa listahan namin,” he said.

Pardo said he’s in fact, happy to know that the 2011 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year is actively following the Hotshots’ ongoing campaign in the Philippine Cup online.

“Alam ko sinusubaybayan niya ang mga laro namin online saka nagme-message yan kina Allein (Maliksi), Ian Sangalang saka Rafi (Reavis),” he said.

Really looking forward to having Ratliffe back in our fold. He is easily a 20-10 guy who doesn't demand for the rock to be effective. I think the players like playing with him and he clearly wants to play for us. That unfinished business should serve as added motivation for him.

Welcome back Ricardo "The Relentless" Ratliffe!

Napanuod ko ilang highlights ng Finals sa KBL, decent na shooting ni Mang Cardo and mga back to the basket na moves niya. hopefully mas maging effective siya this conference :tup

I'm ok with Tony M. but damn Kuya Cardo is the best option right now. Now that we're heading to Playoffs, offensive and defensive import are hell of a thing, plus the fact that he's been here before and we almost down the No. 1 back then because of him.

I did a little research about Ratliffe's previous stint in KBL and his performance there was very impressive. In fact he's a stat filler in that league. Here are some of the notable players in the PBA played in that league.

    PPG:

    1st Andre Emmet 28.8
    2nd Ricardo Ratliffe 24.7
    3rd Charles Rhodes 23.8
    8th James Mays 21.8

    RBP:

    1st Ricardo Ratliffe 13.6
    3rd James Mays 11.9
    4th Charles Rhodes 11.2

    BPG:

    2nd Charles Rhodes 1.9
    5th Ricardo Ratliffe 1.1

He scored 34 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and 5 assists.

Saw this interview on Ratliffe and he loves playing in Korea pala and would consider playing for their national team if given the chance.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Haha. But more importantly, we now have a go-to-guy pag crunchtime.

Ratliffe is such a beast in the paint opponents will likely be forced to double on him, and we've all seen that he's also an able passer.

Next game poses a tougher challenge for Ratliffe against another physical import in Alex Stephenson. Post player talaga itong Stephenson compared to Greene. Though Cardo i think is more agile. Should be fun...
